Blue Lou StudiosWhen I was growing up, my father would tell me stories about a fictional "Louis the Rabbit" who lived in our backyard (with his sister Louisa, obviously). The stories would begin, "guess who I saw today?" and then would typically contain a moral or lesson based on whatever childhood issue I was dealing with. It took many years to figure out that Louis the Rabbit always seemed to fall down and skin his knee on the same days I did!
Fast forward about 30 years and my daughter was given a stuffed rabbit when she was born. Naturally we named him Louis the Rabbit - or LTR for short. When she went off to day care, we acquired a spare LTR to send with her. The original was blue/aqua and the new one was white. We differentiated them by calling them "Blue Lou" and "School Lou". A few years later, our daughter informed us that Blue Lou was actually a girl and that she preferred the pronouns she/her/hers. When my son was born, he acquired a similar bunny, but orange in color. Obviously that bunny was also named Blue Lou. The baby in the family has a forest green Blue Lou. No one expects to call that lovey anything but Blue Lou ;) In honor of our beloved stuffed bunnies (who have made it into almost every family photo we've taken), as well as the original Louis the Rabbit, the logo of Blue Lou Studios features a sketch of our favorite bunny.
